Living Life

Fully

Alive

I want people to walk into NLCC and immediately feel like they are entering a place where they are loved and cared for. We want our clients to know they are important and that there is hope. We encourage a culture that supports mental wellbeing and reduces shame surrounding our struggles. We all deserve to be treated with compassion and respect.”

About

The New London Counseling Center is a place for our community to gather, connect, and heal. We are a nonprofit organization that is committed to promoting the emotional, relational and spiritual well-being of individuals and families. We believe in providing high quality, compassionate therapy and educational workshops to our community, regardless of one’s ability to pay.

Our team of licensed clinicians bring their diverse experiences and specialties to our practice with the goal of creating a culture that promotes mental well-being and destigmatizes therapy. We acknowledge that we are all broken, and we can all benefit from professional support at one time or another. Through our community-centered approach, we intend to tear down the walls of traditional mental health delivery by meeting people where they are every day – their places of work, their gyms, their civic groups or places to volunteer – and offer free community workshops.

The New London Counseling Center opened its doors on April 1, 2019, and our dedicated team is ready to provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy to people of all ages. Dr. Katie Bowman and the founding Board of Directors (Joshua Roberts, Michael Woodin, and Joyce Ross) put together the organization’s guiding plan. Through fundraising and grants, The New London Counseling Center strives to provide care to all who need it and not turn anyone away due to financial reasons.

As of December 4, 2018 New London Counseling Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit public charity.

We have moved!
As of 10/2022 we are now located at:
1016 State Road
Lincoln University, PA 19352

History

Members of the Christian Life Center in Lincoln University recognized a need for mental health services in Southern Chester County and wanted to make counseling available to the entire community. Pastor Joshua Roberts from the Christian Life Center invited Dr. Katie Bowman to join this endeavor, and the New London Counseling Center was born. The Christian Life Center has been, and will continue to be, a generous donor towards this new organization and an important community partner.

The New London Counseling Center operates out of a grand home with a rich history, built in the 1850s and nestled in historic New London Village. The quiet solitude and beauty offered by this home and land is evident as soon as you pull into the driveway. The property boasts a working farm sprawled over eight acres. It houses a barn, silo and airplane hangar that once operated as the New London Airport over several decades. Today, the former landing strip has been returned to farm land.
