Mental health matters — for individuals, families, and our entire community. That’s why each May, during Mental Health Awareness Month, New London Counseling Center hosts our "Walk for Wellness," a free community event that brings people together in support of whole-person well-being.

Set against the natural beauty of Glenroy Preserve in Nottingham, PA, the walk highlights three powerful tools for mental wellness:

🌿 Time in nature
🤝 Connection with others
🚶 Movement for the body and mind

But the impact doesn’t stop there.

This event also fuels access to care through our “1 of 52” Challenge — a shared effort to invite at least 52 businesses or individuals to give $100, covering a full year of counseling for someone who otherwise couldn’t afford it.

When we walk together, we raise awareness.
When we give together, we create access.
When we show up together, we build a stronger, healthier community.

Join us and be part of something meaningful.

It's a beautiful place to walk, and they created two exclusive trails for us to use.

We encourage you and your family and friends to walk, hike or run your way to wellbeing!

This year we have two trail walk/run options (you can find them below)

*This event is rain or shine, please check your email or our website for any severe weather warnings or cancellations.

**Glenroy Preserve has a short waiver that will need to be signed prior to the walk.

We will make it as simple and fast as possible!  Head straight to the registration table when you arrive!

PARTICIPATE IN THE WALK FOR WELLNESS

While the walk is completely free - as are all the fun activities and snacks - we do ask that you sign up so that we are prepared for the right amount!

We have options for all skill levels and family friendly activities to keep the hike fun and exciting!

Choose from 2 courses:

A 1-mile Family Friendly Trail Walk.

You can choose to participate in the scavenger hunt, or just enjoy a shorter stroll through the preserve.

3-mile Trail Walk/Run (easy/moderate)

This longer trail will still be very walkable.  Extend your time in nature or challenge yourself to go a little further!

Share our Event

We want to share the gift of wellness and community with as many friends as possible and we would love if you would share this event with your friends, families and neighbors!

Walk for Wellness Sponsorship Opportunities
W4W 1in52 2.png

Be 1 of 52.
Make a difference in supporting care all year long.

This year, we're aiming (again!) to secure 52 sponsors at $100 each.

Why 52?

Because that represents one therapy session for every week of the year!

Your sponsorship helps individuals receive the consistent mental health support they need—easing financial burdens and expanding access to vital services.

Be part of this inspiring event and help us make a lasting impact!

At our 2025 Walk for Wellness we raised over $6,700!

Join us for this encouraging event and help us make a difference!

Last year, 50% of our clients needed financial assistance, and we provided nearly $145,000 in Care Subsidy Scholarships to ensure they could access the support they needed.

Your support helps:

  • Parents develop healthier relationships with their children

  • Youth learn how to manage anxiety

  • Individuals struggling with grief, trauma and life transitions

  • Clients regain hope, build resilience and reconnect with their community
